Online Customs Broker Exam Training Course:

This online course is designated to support all participants increase their possibility of passing the Customs Broker License Examination (CBLE). The key factor in passing the exam is commitment and making time to study.

Training details:

The training will start July 15th, 2024. The 14-week online training will cover topics such as entry, power of attorney, valuation, quotas, country of origin markings, customs broker, bonds, classification, liquidation, record-keeping, import security filing, foreign trade zones, free trade agreement, intellectual property, search and seizure, fines, bonds, penalties, entry process, trademarks and more.  

PowerPoint lecture copies and practice exams will be emailed to all participants.

All participants must have the required materials prior to starting the training. Materials can be purchased on Thomson Reuters website.

Required materials:

All participants must purchase all the required publications such the United States Harmonized Tariff Schedule (USHTS) and Section 19 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 19).

Training schedule:

Option 1 - Monday & Wednesday |Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm CST

Option 2 - Tuesday & Thursday | Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm CST

Option 3 - Saturday | Time: 9am-1pm CST

About the Customs Broker Exam:

  • Registration cost: $390

  • The exam is 4.5hrs and will be given in an electronic format at testing locations.

  • All participants are allowed to bring the required materials and any other writing materials to the exam since it is an open book exam. No electronic devices is permitted (no cellphone, no computers, etc.)

Requirements to be  a Customs Broker: 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen at least 21 years of age

  • Must pass the exam (75 percent or more)

  • Must be of good moral character

  • Cannot be an officer or employee of the U.S. government

Cancellation & Refunds:

Participants may cancel the training 7 business days (deadline July 8th, 2024) before the beginning of training for a full refund.

Returning participants:

The goal is for you to pass the exam. Returning participants may retake the training course for half price.
